Stop Light Switch
It is amazing how the set of lighting equipment at the front and rear of an automobile can set the mood as well as safety of its approaching and tailing motorists. Once a distinct and non-flashing red—or amber on some models—light comes on, it is easily understood that the driver is going to stop. And this happens without too much fuss because a Stop Light Switch is attached on the brake pedal that energizes the light. This switch differs from most of the lighting components of the vehicle that needs to be pushed or levered. This automatically goes on when even just a light pressure is applied on the brake pedal. The Stop Light Switch is wired to a brake light that is usually assembled on the tail light on most vehicle models. For modern cars, it is positioned at the back windshield where it can easily be seen easily even by high-carriage types of automobiles. On modern sports utility vehicles, this is located at the sides of the rear gate or doors. The Stop Light Switch also automatically goes off when the pressure applied on the brake pedal is withdrawn. Often, it is supposed to outlive the brake lights of the vehicle. But there are different cases that may prove to be very damaging to this switch like corroding of wires and lack of power to energize it. Once it gets damaged, a replacement must be acquired immediately to restore the functionality of an automobile’s brake lights.
