Camshaft Position Sensor
Keeping track of a car’s components is important in ensuring a safe and comfortable drive. But the question is this: how can a driver keep track that these parts are in specs performance? This electronic device is used to provide information regarding the accurate position of the camshaft. Whether servicing or regular maintenance, it is important for every driver to know the exact position of the camshaft because it is where the timing of the vehicle depends. This is why a car needs to be equipped with a properly-functioning Camshaft Position Sensor to locate the top dead center (TDC) of the engine. Attached in front of the crankshaft, this electronic sensor sends signal to the on-board computer of the crank’s accurate position. All supporting assemblies or systems of the vehicle should be responsive to the Camshaft Position Sensor to get the best results from the engine. It is easy to spot the damage. Once the indicator does not move when cranking, that’s the time when the sensor should be replaced.
